ICOMP Lunch Debate in the European Parliament in Brussels, 6 October, 2009
At a lunch debate entitled 'The Future of the Internet and Europe's Digital Strategy' hosted by MEP Alexander Alvaro, ICOMP launched the 'Internet Imperatives' and presented Commissioner Viviane Reding with the first copy of this charter outlining prerequisites for a healthy and competitive online marketplace.
ICOMP Privacy & Competition Conference, Brussels, 27 April 2009
Representatives from European institutions, national data protection authorities, consumer and privacy groups came together to discuss ways of paying consideration to privacy issues in the application of anti-trust law. Speakers included Sophie in ‘t Veld MEP; Jackie Minor, European Commission Director for Consumer Affairs; and Philippe Renaudière, European Commission Data Protection Officer.
ICOMP Conference “Intellectual property issues and their impact on Internet Commerce”, Brussels, 23 October 2008
Representatives from the European Publishers Council, the Federation of European Film Directors, Copiepresse, Sanoma, Wunderman, Microsoft and others discussed how the growth in online commerce has generated a growing number of IP issues.
