EC takes further steps in Google investigations: ICOMP Statement

Augmenting the European Commission’s investigation with new evidence and aspects will strengthen it. But it should not slow down, as Google has impeded fair competition for over a decade.

Google’s advertising business is dominant as its search engine. Too many websites are dependent on Google ads for traffic, revenue or both. Google ads and technology are in many places consumers do not realise. The profits reaped from ads fund all sorts of other Google activity. The EC investigating this big business will hopefully limit its power or make it more transparent and fair.
